Dorper sheep are raised for their great-tasting and lean meat, not for their wool. The meat is widely known to be the best flavor of all lamb and sheet breeds with a sweet, milder natural flavor that doesn't need to be marinated to mask any mutton flavor. In order to raise high-quality sheep, one has to properly care for them. We enclosed our property with netting, and secure the sheep in a guarded area at night to protect them from wild predators while they sleep. There are also several run-in shelters for the animals so they are protected from the heat, cold, and rain.
